In most weeks, company reports barely register outside their own shareholders, but this week 79 S&P 500 companies report. The first of the big tech names report their July to September results. SpaceX, which listed in June, gives only its second report as a public company.
The timing is awkward for anyone outside the US. Most of the big tech reports land after the New York close, which is late evening in Europe and the early hours of the next morning in Asia, and the stocks have also been under pressure. Last week the Nasdaq had its worst week since June as worries about AI spending hit chip and tech stocks.
Three things matter for a trader this week: when each report lands in your time zone, what the market expects, and how far the stock moved last time. BloFin's own price data shows the last one. For the wider season, the October 2026 earnings calendar covers every date through late November and the results so far.
Which big companies report earnings this week?
The biggest reports this week are SpaceX and Netflix on Tuesday, October 20, then Tesla, Meta, IBM and Lam Research on Wednesday, October 21, all after the US market closes. Western Digital and Bloom Energy follow on Thursday, and 79 S&P 500 companies report in total.
That count comes from FactSet, which also shows how the season has gone so far (source: FactSet, October 16, 2026). About 9% of S&P 500 companies have reported, 84% of them beat earnings forecasts, and expected earnings growth for the quarter stands at 29.0%. Beating has not paid, though, since companies that beat have seen their shares fall 0.2% on average around the report, against a five-year average gain of 0.9%. The pace also picks up sharply from here, since only 25 S&P 500 companies were due in the season's first week (source: FactSet, October 9, 2026).
This week's earnings schedule in ET and UTC
Each of these companies has set its own date. The times are for the conference call or webcast, which often starts 30 to 60 minutes after the results come out. Times are also given in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), which is four hours ahead of New York until US daylight saving time ends on November 1, so a 4.30PM ET call is 8.30PM UTC.
The last column is the Zacks consensus for earnings per share (EPS) on October 19 (source: Nasdaq earnings calendar, Zacks consensus). Tesla's figure is left to its own preview, because estimates for Tesla vary widely by data provider.

Every date and call time comes from the company's own notice, and the before- or after-the-close timing from Nasdaq's calendar where a notice does not say. On Tuesday that means GE Aerospace (source: GE Aerospace), Netflix (source: Netflix) and SpaceX (source: SpaceX). On Wednesday it means AT&T (source: AT&T), Meta (source: Meta), Texas Instruments (source: Texas Instruments), IBM (source: IBM), Lam Research (source: Lam Research) and Tesla (source: Tesla). On Thursday it means Lockheed Martin (source: Lockheed Martin), Procter & Gamble (source: Procter & Gamble), Blackstone (source: Blackstone), American Airlines (source: American Airlines), Western Digital (source: Western Digital) and Bloom Energy (source: Bloom Energy).
Some calendars, including the Zacks-fed calendar on Nasdaq.com, still show an estimated November 3 for SpaceX. Its own notice gives October 20.
What to expect from each report
For each company, the useful comparison is the forecast against what the company itself said last time. Estimates come from different data providers, and providers count EPS in slightly different ways, so each figure names its source. Once a report is out, how to read an earnings report covers which numbers to check first.
SpaceX: The second report as a public company
SpaceX reports after the close on Tuesday. It listed on Nasdaq under the ticker SPCX at $135 a share in June (source: SpaceX prospectus), so investors have just one earlier quarter to go on. In that second quarter, revenue nearly doubled to $7.8 billion and the company lost $541 million. Capital spending reached $18.4 billion, $15.8 billion of it in the AI business (source: SpaceX, Q2 2026 release).
Analysts polled by Zacks expect EPS of $0.11 for the third quarter (source: Nasdaq earnings calendar, Zacks consensus). The company gave no forecast of its own. The focus is on its two big units: connectivity, mainly Starlink, which brought in $4.3 billion last quarter, and AI, which brought in $2.6 billion. The first report did not go well: BloFin's SPCXUSDT Perpetual fell 13.8% in the 24 hours after it.
Netflix: Guidance already set at 82 cents
Netflix also reports on Tuesday, and it told investors in July to expect revenue of $12.9 billion, up 11.7%, an operating margin of 33.2% and EPS of $0.82 for the quarter (source: Netflix, Q2 2026 shareholder letter). Zacks's consensus matches that $0.82 exactly (source: Nasdaq earnings calendar, Zacks consensus).
Since analysts are sitting on the company's own number, the reaction is likely to turn on next year's outlook and on how much people watch. Netflix announced about 1,000 job cuts and replaced its chief content officer this month, and its shares were down 24.7% for the year by October 14 (source: Kiplinger). After its July report, the NFLXUSDT Perpetual fell 7.3%.
Tesla and Meta: The same evening
Tesla and Meta are the first of the seven biggest US tech stocks to report this season, and both report on Wednesday (source: FactSet, October 16, 2026).
Tesla has already published its car numbers: it delivered 486,532 vehicles in the quarter and deployed 13.7 GWh of energy storage (source: Tesla). Analysts surveyed by LSEG expect EPS about 14.5% lower than a year earlier and revenue down close to 1% (source: CNBC, October 18, 2026). Tesla gives no number for its outlook, so profit margins and news on its robotaxi and energy businesses will drive the call. Trading Tesla around earnings and deliveries shows how the stock has reacted before. Its July report was its worst reaction of the year: the TSLAUSDT Perpetual fell 14.6% in 24 hours.
The Tesla Q3 2026 earnings preview goes through what to watch in detail.
Meta guided for third-quarter revenue of $61 billion to $64 billion, and it narrowed its 2026 capital spending plan to $130 billion to $145 billion (source: Meta, Q2 2026 release). Zacks's consensus is EPS of $6.67 (source: Nasdaq earnings calendar, Zacks consensus). Meta's shares rose 19.7% from September 7 to October 14 after the launch of its Muse AI agent (source: Kiplinger). That puts the bar higher than it was in July. Both of its last two reports were followed by drops, with the METAUSDT Perpetual down 8.4% in April and 8.2% in July.
IBM, Lam Research and the chip read
IBM reports on Wednesday after a rough summer. In July it warned before its full report that "this quarter we faltered", with revenue up just 1% (source: IBM, July 14, 2026), and the shares fell 25% that day (source: CNBC, July 14, 2026). It gives only a full-year outlook, now 4% to 5% revenue growth at constant currency (source: IBM, Q2 2026 release), and Zacks's EPS consensus is $2.87.
Lam Research, which makes chipmaking machines, and Texas Instruments report the same evening, and Western Digital follows on Thursday, all in the middle of a chip sell-off. Zacks expects EPS of $2.17 for Lam, up from $1.26 a year earlier, and $3.97 for Western Digital, up from $1.64 (source: Nasdaq earnings calendar, Zacks consensus).
How these stocks moved after their last report
Four of these five stocks fell sharply after their last report, three of them by more than 8%, and IBM held steady only because its big drop came a week early, on the day of its warning. Moves of 7% to 15% overnight have been common for this group.
Each figure is the change in BloFin's perpetual from 4PM ET on the report day to 4PM ET the next day, using hourly closes.
Company | Last report | BloFin perpetual, next 24 hours | Bitcoin, same 24 hours |
|---|---|---|---|
Netflix | July 16 | −7.3% | −0.2% |
Tesla | July 22 | −14.6% | −1.6% |
IBM | July 22 (after a −25.3% warning day on July 14) | +0.2% | −1.6% |
Meta | July 29 | −8.2% | +1.9% |
SpaceX | August 4 | −13.8% | +1.0% |
On BloFin, bitcoin's moves on those nights were small next to the stocks' and went both ways. The BTCUSDT Perpetual moved between −1.6% and +1.9%, so a big tech report moves the mood in crypto far less than it moves the stock. A handful of nights is too few to call a pattern, so treat these as the size of moves that have happened, not a forecast.
The two things worth carrying into the week are the size of the moves and their timing. Every one of these reactions began after the US close, overnight for much of Europe and Asia, and BloFin's stock perpetuals, such as the SPCXUSDT Perpetual, keep quoting through it.
What else moves markets this week
The economic calendar is light, with no monthly inflation or jobs report this week (source: US Bureau of Labor Statistics), so company results are likely to set the tone for stocks and for crypto. The main US release is September housing starts on Tuesday at 8.30AM ET, 12.30PM UTC (source: US Census Bureau).
The Federal Reserve is also quiet. Its officials stopped giving policy speeches on Saturday, October 17, under a blackout that lasts until Thursday, October 29 (source: Federal Reserve, communication rules), ahead of its October 27-28 meeting, with the rate decision on October 28 (source: Federal Reserve).
The week starts on a weak note, after the S&P 500 lost almost 2% and the Nasdaq 4.5% last week, their worst week since June (source: AP via La Nación, October 16, 2026). On BloFin, the QQQUSDT Perpetual, which tracks the Nasdaq-100, lost 5.5% from Friday to Friday, while bitcoin fell 0.9%.
Trading this week's reports on BloFin
BloFin lists perpetuals on SpaceX, Netflix, Tesla, Meta, IBM, Lam Research, Blackstone, Western Digital and Bloom Energy, all reporting this week, and on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 funds. Their prices keep moving after the US close, so each report's reaction shows up overnight.
The full list is in the TradFi assets you can trade on BloFin. Copy trading covers the SpaceX, Netflix, Tesla, Meta, IBM, Western Digital and Bloom Energy perpetuals, and how to copy trade on BloFin explains how to set it up.
New positions follow US regular hours, 9.30AM to 4PM ET. Outside them, you may only be able to close or cut a position, not open one (source: BloFin, stock futures trading hours). Most of this week's reports on BloFin-listed stocks come after the close, with Blackstone on Thursday morning the exception, so decide before 4PM ET whether to hold through them.
Size for a move like the 7% to 15% swings after the last reports. Say you hold a 5,000 USDT long on the Meta perpetual at 10x leverage, backed by 500 USDT of margin, into Wednesday's report. A repeat of July's 8.2% drop would cost about 410 USDT by the next day's close. That is most of your margin, and it could leave the position close to liquidation. At 10x leverage, a 10% move against you wipes out the margin, as how liquidation works explains. Trading news volatility covers when stepping aside is the better plan.

Nothing in this article constitutes financial advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any stock, crypto asset or other instrument. Most of this week's major reports arrive after the US close, when a stock perpetual may be limited to reduce-only orders. A position held through a report can gap past your stop. Several of these stocks moved 7% to 15% after their last report, and a leveraged position can be liquidated and lose all the margin behind it.
